There is always a sense of awkward anticipation and nervousness when it comes to watching a real life adaptation of a classic Disney film animation. If you feel like this Beauty and the Beast retake won’t quite meet the standards of the 1991 classic, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Directed by Bill Condon the story and characters come to life in this beautiful enchanting real life adaption of Disney’s animated classic. It is the journey you’ve known to love of a beautiful, young, bookworm, Belle (Emma Watson) who is imprisoned due to volunteering her place instead of her fathers (Kevin Kline) in a Beasts castle. The Beast (Dan Stevens) who was once a former spoiled prince, until he had a spell cast upon him and if he wishes to reverse the spell he needs to learn to love be loved in return.

This film can be enjoyed by children and life-long adult fans. Watsons was a perfect choice for Belle. Her headstrong character and grace come out magnificently throughout the film. You are strongly reminded of the Belle in the 1991 film you grew to love and adore. You begin to fall in love with each main character as well as the counterparts Bill Condon ensembles in this retake as you once did for the predecessor.

The stunning costumes and magnificent set design add to this movies musical remake. The story outline keeps very close to the original, except for a few new scenes and musical parts which is why you are left with that nostalgic feeling you came for.
