The N3 Gateway Tourism Association established the Friends of the N3 Gateway Partnership Programme in order to build relationships with key public and private sector organisations. The programme aims to provide mutual benefits to all parties concerned.
The N3 Gateway provides marketing and branding benefits to it’s ‘’Friends’’ but also involves them in projects and tourism focussed activities that lead towards the achievement of common goals and objectives. In return the N3 Gateway requests a financial contribution which goes towards achieving the association’s mandate of marketing the experiences and offerings of its 31 members and 1500 stakeholders (tourism businesses). The programme is working well and thus far Eskom Holdings, the Gauteng Tourism Authority, Free State Tourism Authority and OnRoute Magazine have joined up. Each of these organisations is actively involved in the tourism sector and sees the importance of developing tourism along the N3 Route from Pretoria to Pietermaritzburg.
The N3 Gateway’s Matthew Drew said, ‘’The financial contributions made by our Friends are important but what matters most is that there is a firm commitment from each party towards the growth and development of tourism along the N3 Gateway route. The partnerships have facilitated the sharing of knowledge and contributed towards the development of innovative solutions.’’
The N3 Gateway Tourism Association established the Friends of the N3 Gateway Partnership Programme in order to build relationships with key public and private sector organisations.
The association’s primary funder, the N3 Toll Concession also sees the establishment of such partnerships as being important to the sustainability of the tourism route.
It is hoped that over the coming years more Friends will join the N3 Gateway in its efforts to create a world class route and destination to be enjoyed by domestic and international tourists alike.
