IMPERIAL’s I-Pledge and the Breakfast Xpress joined forces to bring about the Car Seats for Kids campaign. The fantastic initiative encouraged Highveld Stereo 94.7 listeners and road users to donate their unused car seats and give a child the gift of safety. It’s the responsibility of all parents to get involved and put the safety of their children first. So if your kids have outgrown their car seats, whether it’s a baby, toddler or booster safety seat, donate them.
All donated car seats will be distributed by Wheel Well to those who are in need. With the well-being of our children at the forefront of this campaign, the car seats will be re-upholstered, safety checked and cleaned before distribution to ensure that they’re user friendly and defect free. Wheel Well receives donated child safety seats to create a “seat exchange” where lower income families can receive them in return for an affordable donation. They also encourage parents to return the seats once outgrown to perpetuate the cycle.
Peggy Mars from Wheel Well says, “The effort of IMPERIAL I-Pledge toward this cause is nothing short of amazing.”
If your kids have outgrown their car seats, whether it’s a baby, toddler or booster safety seat, donate them.
Currently the Wheel Well Centre and IMPERIAL I-Pledge have collected over 600 used car seats at shopping malls around Gauteng as well as at IMPERIAL Outlets. The campaign will run through December where motorists who are unable to afford child car seats will be provided with one while travelling along the main holiday routes.
