The Outeniqua Farmers’ Market, established in 2011, becomes the heart of George, a place where friends meet.
Outeniqua Farmers’ Market
Cradled by the Outeniqua mountains, this 5-hectare market, consisting of more than 120 stallholders, offers quality food and craft by local farmers and craftspeople. The word ‘Outeniqua’ means ‘the land where honey comes from’ and market owner Deon Mocke’s desire is that the Outeniqua Farmers’ Market, established in 2011, becomes the heart of George, a place where friends meet. ‘It will put George on the map,’ he says. Children’s activities include a unique ‘choo-choo’ train, making it a family-friendly market. The market is open every Saturday.
