The Italian Job starring Mini Cooper
The obvious choice for number one is the Mini Coopers used in the 2003 remake of The Italian Job. The Mini Cooper is a classic car that has evolved over the years from a compact hatchback into a popular sports hatch that has been tweaked and modified in so many ways, it is sometimes unrecognisable. The best and most successful Mini collaboration is with John Cooper Works, who is to thank for the best-performing standard production Minis available today! A Mini from JCW could set you back a small fortune, but the thrill is worth the pennies.
Fast & Furious 8 starring Mercedes AMG GT
When you Google ‘the greatest cars to star in movies’ the list of candidates is jaw-dropping, albeit ridiculous. Every list seems to include the same group of classic Bond cars, the DeLorean from Back to the Future, the Mutt Cutts van from Dumb & Dumber,
In Fast & Furious 8, Jason Statham drives a Mercedes AMG GT in his pursuit of Dom through the streets of New York City. Although the AMG GT is not your typical everyday car, we have seen enough of them around town to justify its inclusion here. At the recent Festival of Motoring at Kyalami, the GT was on display for all to see and had the public and press completely in awe of the raw power and speed it delivered on track, yet it had such class and sophistication inside.
James Bond starring The Aston Martin DB5
The Aston Martin DB5 also makes the list as throughout history it made an appearance in no fewer than six Bond films. It appeared in Goldfinger, Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale and Skyfall, and the DB5 is by far one of the most iconic cars to come out of the British manufacturer. The DB5 is as much a sports car as it is a business saloon, and should you ever have the privilege of owning one, you’ll understand why it has such allure and status in the upper circles of society.
Transformers starring The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro
This one’s our favourite! The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro which most of us know as Bumblebee from Transformers. Since the very first instalment of the Michael Bay mega-franchise, Bumblebee has evolved into whichever Camaro is available on the market that year. The 2016 version is sleek, sexy and performs like a bat out of hell. Owning one of these beauties will certainly make a statement and is by far the coolest movie car you can actually own.
